Mostra personale: 24 Marzo – 28 Aprile

Inaugurazione sabato 24 Marzo, h 18.00

Alla presenza dell’artistaBook signing del volume edito da Radius Books

In mostra le metallic print on acrylic block delle monumentali cime di oltre 10 montagne ubicate nei 6 continenti:

Nepal, Himalayas
Chile, Andes
USA, Rocky Mountains
USA, Yosemite
New Zealand, Southern Alps
South Africa, Western Cape
Italy, Dolomities
Switzerland, Alps
Alaska, Alaskan Range
France, Mont Blanc Massif

Renate Aller è nata in Germania, vive e lavora a New York.

Le sueopere fanno parte di numerose Collezioni private e museali tra le quali Lannan Foundation, Santa Fe, N.M., National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., Yale University Art Gallery, CT, George Eastman House, Rochester NY, New Britain Museum of American Art, CT, Hamburger Kunsthalle , Hamburg, Germany, Chazen Museum of Art, Madison WI e Parrish Art Museum, Water Mill, NY.

Solo Exhibition: 24 March – 28 April

Opening Saturday 24 March, 6pm

The artist will be present, and will be signing copies of her book published by Radius Books

On view will be metallic c-prints mounted behind an acrylic block showing the monumental peaks of over 10 mountains on 6 continents:

Nepal, Himalayas
Chile, Andes
USA, Rocky Mountains
USA, Yosemite
New Zealand, Southern Alps
South Africa, Western Cape
Italy, Dolomities
Switzerland, Alps
Alaska, Alaskan Range
France, Mont Blanc Massif

With the same intensity of Renate Aller’s previous work, in which oceans and deserts were portrayed, Mountain Interval changes the way we see and feel the scale and the size of the subject. In this exhibition the viewer engages with these photographs in the form of small sculpture, creating a shift in perspective which allows the observer to interact with the images of the mountains via an equal and non-oppressive relationship. The photographer offers us an intimate dialogue with these giant artworks of nature by highlighting the details, the veins and the texture of the rocks in their natural transitory state.

Renate Aller was born in Germany, lives and works in New York.

Her works are part of numerous private collections and museums including Lannan Foundation, Santa Fe, NM, National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC, Yale University Art Gallery, CT, George Eastman House, Rochester NY, New Britain Museum of American Art, CT, Hamburger Kunsthalle, Hamburg , Germany, Chazen Museum of Art, Madison WI and Parrish Art Museum, Water Mill, NY.
