Solo Exhibition: 24 March – 28 April Opening Saturday 24 March, 6pm The artist will be present, and will be signing copies of her book published by Radius Books On view will be metallic c-prints mounted behind an acrylic block showing the monumental peaks of over 10 mountains on 6 continents: Nepal, Himalayas With the same intensity of Renate Aller’s previous work, in which oceans and deserts were portrayed, Mountain Interval changes the way we see and feel the scale and the size of the subject. In this exhibition the viewer engages with these photographs in the form of small sculpture, creating a shift in perspective which allows the observer to interact with the images of the mountains via an equal and non-oppressive relationship. The photographer offers us an intimate dialogue with these giant artworks of nature by highlighting the details, the veins and the texture of the rocks in their natural transitory state. Renate Aller was born in Germany, lives and works in New York.
